so cal weekend

so last week we went down to socal for a little long weekend trip. ive never really been down there too much but it seems like a whole new world and i liked it. it was me, trevor hennings and matty mo. big ups to castro and the bear homies for the hospitality. hot dawgs and handrails was the main event down there as well so it was real good to see all of our friends that we dont get to see often. snowboard reunions rule. anyways, i blew it and didnt take many photos while i was down there. heres what i did take.

the day after the contest we went down to newport beach and hung out with aloe for a bit. we finally made it to the beach by sunset

we ended up heading down to san clemente to stay with jon from celtek. thanks to jon again for letting us crash. the next day he showed us the new office. woooooo wee it must be nice to live down there

new kearns park

theres a new skatepark in salt lake - the kearns plaza. that place is sick but its been crowded as shit since it opened. we went for a hot minute last week, heres a few pics. theres a lot more there that i should have taken pictures of, but who cares. go there for yourself.

so im back from hood finally and I know what your thinking. michael jackson died one year ago yesterday (6/25/09). we celebrated in his honor by going on many caribbean getaways (more on those later).

heres castro pouring one out for mj. he put on that shirt in the morning without even knowing this was the day he died. thats an act of fate if you ask me.

we watched "this is it", the movie about his final rehearsals before he died. highly recommended

theres not too much to do around mt hood when it rains, but justin gyp really likes muddin, so gyp, brewster and I decided to take his truck out for a little stroll in the woods. we found a logging road that was as close to a muddin trail that we could find and drove a few miles into the woods. pretty sweet
